WELCOME MESSAGE
IEEE GREENTECH 2013 brings together researchers and
experts from industry, academia, national laboratories, and
utilities, covering a broad spectrum of various technologies
for the betterment of our environment and our lives. The
keynote speakers, authors and panelists come from different
backgrounds, countries and disciplines. The GREENTECH
2013
program comprising a mixture of practice, theory, and
vision presents a wide-spectrum panoramic view of the state
and future of green and clean energy.
This year, the IEEE GREENTECH 2013 conference takes
a slightly different format than the past years. The changes
are made based on the input from the past attendees,
professional colleagues, professors and graduate students.
We hope that the new format will better accommodate the
needs of the participants (both the attendees and presenters).
This year we kick-off with a site tour to the National Wind
Technology Center in Boulder, Colorado, and a tutorial. This
is followed by nearly two days of eight expert panel sessions,
nine categories of topical oral paper presentation sessions,
and eight keynote speakers drawn from academia, industry,
laboratories, market and policy leaders.
The topics for the paper and panel sessions include the
hardcore technologies, such as wind, photovoltaic, solar
thermal, biogas, building and efficiency, the enabling
technologies, such as power electronics, information
technologies, communications and smart grids, and the
business aspects related to energy markets that are so key
in the deployment of clean and renewable energy. The panel
sessions bring together a suite of technical experts from
different fields to share their knowledge and experience.
We want to welcome and thank you for your participation in
this exciting conference. We look forward to meeting you,
your interaction and involvement. Together, we work for a
better tomorrow.
